When I think of a romantic Valentine's Day style, I picture soft, flowing curls pinned back from your face. Sounds easy, right? Until you spend an hour curling only to have it fall out before you can pin it! Here are my favorite tips for a romantic style that stays!
Start with clean, dry hair. Shampoo at least twice and go light on the conditioner. Too much moisture can make your curls fall flat before the night even begins!
Add a gel at your ends and a volumizer at the root. Blow-dry these products into your hair to create long-lasting hold and volume.
Choose an iron smaller than you think. Once the curls relax, you’ll be happy you did. You can’t win against gravity!
Pin curls to set. Especially if you have fine, straight hair. Spray with plenty of hairspray or texture spray—these will help the pins stick and keep your curls in place.
Twist pieces loosely back towards the top of your head and pin. Continue until you feel comfortable with the amount of hair left out. If bobby pins are tricky, grab tiny claw clips for an easy, secure hold.
